Do you know “SDGs”?
I think you know it well.
This was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are urgent requests for action by all countries. Especially, “Goal 4” is the education issue which is “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. Education is foundation for a peaceful and inclusive society by promoting understanding of diverse cultures and values. And access to higher education is one of the most important issues.
So far Japan has been trying to improve the global education sector and attracting foreign students to pursue higher education. Universities in Japan have also been enhanced to receive foreign students as much as possible. In this context, this Website of “Study in Japan” is an important activity and contributes to SDGs as well. Through this activity, CJCC will continue to support Cambodian students to study at universities in Japan who are expected to lead the development in Cambodia.
I understand that now it is a very severe situation to study abroad under COVID-19. However, I hope that many Cambodian students apply and get a chance to study in Japan. And I believe that they will become the leader to keep the good relationship between Cambodia and Japan in the future.
