Nagoya University, also known as Meidai, is a prestigious national university located in the central part of Japan, Nagoya. It is recognized as one of the leading institutions of higher education in Japan.
Establishment: Nagoya University was said to have its origin in establishment of the Temporary Medical School/ Public Hospital, which opened here in Nagoya in 1871. In 1949, Nagoya University was launched as a national university under the new educational system in Japan. As of 2024, Nagoya University boasts nine undergraduate schools, 13 graduate schools, three research institutes and three inter-university service facilities, standing strong and proud as one of the country's core "comprehensive" universities.
Research Excellence: Nagoya University's research achievements include groundbreaking work in fields such as STEM, humanities/ social sciences and interdisciplinary areas. You can see from the fact that we have produced 6 Nobel laureates who are related with Nagoya University after 2001.

Academic Programs: Nagoya University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines. It has multiple faculties, including the Schools of Letters, Education, Law, Economics, Informatics, Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Agriculture. We also provide “G30 international programs” for both undergraduate and graduate degree courses, which are conducted all in English as well as regular courses.
Student Services and Support: Through your entrance examination to completion of the course, we have a great deal of support services which are essential and useful for international students. They include our distinguished programs from career development and informal meet-up opportunities for networking.

There are four off-campus dormitories available at affordable rates. Three of them are located within a walking range from the main campus, and all the dormitories are situated in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood. Dormitory rooms are fully equipped, and resident assistants who live in dormitory support new arrivals to help them settle in smoothly.
