University of Yamanashi
University of Yamanashi aims to develop human resources who can respond to the demands of the region and play an active role on the world stage as the core of the local community, with the objective of “Creating the Backbone of the Community and Developing Citizens of the World”. University of Yamanashi is comprised of four faculties; “Faculty of Education”, “Faculty of Engineering”, “Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences”, and “Faculty of Medicine”. At the graduate school, there are “Graduate School of Education” which is the graduate school of teacher education, and the “Integrated Graduate School of Medicine, Engineering and Agricultural Sciences” which integrates the fields of medicine, engineering and life and environmental sciences. In addition, University of Yamanashi carries out distinctive education and research activities with broad range of research fields such as research on “wine” which is a local specialty of Yamanashi Prefecture, “clean energy” “fuel cell” which leads the hydrogen energy era, and “development engineering” “Frontier Brain Science” “Medical Device Development” which promotes world-class integrated research and development.

A1. It is adjacent to the west side of Tokyo. Access to Tokyo is approximately 2 hours by train.
A2. First, it is famous for Mt. It is also known as a fruit kingdom, producing many peaches in summer and grapes in autumn in the prefecture.

A5. All undergraduate and graduate schools accept international students. In addition, we also accept students in the research student category as a preparatory course for entering graduate school. In addition, during long vacations, we also accept students for short programs of about one month.
A6. Courses are available to complete the graduate program in English only. Short programs during long vacations are also available for students who have not yet studied Japanese.

The University of Yamanashi offers dormitories to international students studying at both Kofu campus and Medical campus. There are total of 113 private rooms, 8 couple rooms and 7 family rooms. It is a cheaper alternative to renting housing in the surrounding area. There are also two dining halls on campus, which offer menus that take into account religious and personal beliefs.
